New Health Centre

Most of you will probably be aware of the long running debate surrounding the new health centre.  At one point it was going to be located in Foresthall Park next to the primary school, but the Parish Council’s preferred location is now down by the station (on the old Lotus garage site – now a hand car wash).

The final plans for the latest proposal have now been submitted to Uttlesford District Council for approval and comments are invited prior to Monday 30th January 2012.  Comments can either be submitted in writing to UDC Planning, Council Offices, London Rd., Saffron Walden, CB11 4ER quoting UTT/2384/11/FUL or via the online form at Uttlesford.gov.uk.planning – select “search planning applications”.  In the reference box, insert UTT/2384/11/FUL then click “Search”.  You can view the application documents and plans as well as commenting on the application.

In addition, a public meeting on the new health centre has been arranged on Friday 20th January 2012 (7:30pm) at the hall behind the Free Church (Chapel Hill).

  1. I have had a set of the planning drawings for sometime just hoping that these wouldn’t be the final set submitted for approvel.
The currently proposed development is totally out of keeping with the village scene and will dominate all in sundary around it!!

  2. I agree that the proposed building is totally wrong for the location and can’t imagine who in their right mind could have dreamt up such a scheme. The location is right for the village, within reasonable access from most areas and fairly central. Maybe the answer to all of these planning concerns would be to have more than one doctors surgery/health centre within the village, each on a smaller scale but still offering more services. It’s actual Doctors we urgently need, not necessarily more health practitioners, nurses or whatever who can be poor substitutes in a lot of cases.
