My name is Stephen Berry. I moved to Foresthall Park with my family in November 2009. We were living in Victoria Park in east London but we needed more space (and a garden) so we headed out of the city. We moved to Stansted Mountfitchet because it is an appealing village, sits in between my parents in north London my wife’s parents in Cambridge and importantly it has a train station on the line into Liverpool Street which is where I work.
Outside of work, I enjoy my sports. I’m an occasional golfer and frequent jogger and generally a fan of watching most other sports, especially rugby and U.S. sports (having spent a number of years living in Chicago and New York). Most my weekends are now taken up with kids activities but when time allows, I enjoy getting out and about with my camera or spending time in the kitchen cooking.
My involvement in the Residents’ Association was rather accidental. I had spoken a few times with the Parish Council about various concerns and they suggested setting up a more organised group or Residents’ Association which they could work with and one thing led to another. On top of tackling some of the local issues, I think the Residents’ Association can really help promote a good community spirit, ensuring that Foresthall Park becomes part of the wider village and a nice place to live.
